Boeing's Starliner Spacecraft Set for Launch with NASA Astronauts Aboard

After Years of Delays, Liftoff Scheduled for Today

Boeing cancels its first astronaut launch because of a valve issue on the rocket

After a decade of development and years of delays, the time has finally arrived: Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is set to take off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, today. Liftoff is scheduled for 12:25 p.m. EDT (16:25 GMT), with landing set for a week later in the southwestern United States. Follow our live updates of the Boeing-NASA mission as the spacecraft embarks on its historic journey.

The Starliner spacecraft will carry two NASA astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, to the International Space Station (ISS). This will be the first time that American astronauts have launched on a commercial spacecraft to the ISS.

The launch has been delayed several times due to technical issues. In April, Boeing canceled its first astronaut launch due to a valve issue on the rocket. The company has since fixed the issue and is confident that the spacecraft is now ready for flight.
